We opened on Thanksgiving Sunday 2004. As of Thanksgiving 2005 we began serving the Sunday meal at Crossroads Rhode Island in downtown Providence in order to reach a larger number of those in need. Sunday volunteers: Cooks and sandwich makers come 8:30 -10:30 am to Congregation Beth Sholom, 275 Camp Street, on the East Side of Providence. Servers come 10:45-12 to Crossroads RI, 160 Broad Street, Providence (at the old Downtown YMCA building). Many volunteers do both jobs. 10:30-12 or 12:00-1:00 (clean up) Child volunteers ages 8 and up can help make sandwiches on Sundays from 9-10:30 at Congregation Beth Sholom. They must be accompanied by a parent. If you have specific questions, feel free to email our Volunteer Coordinator David Mandelbaum at David_Mandelbaum@brown.edu |
